Ronald Houtman

Ronald Houtman works in the commercial field of (hardy) nursery stock. Plant groups we specialize in are trees & shrubs, conifers and herbaceous perennials.

 

Firmly rooted in one of the worlds' most influencial nursery areas, Ronald has over 20 years of experience in Plant Breeders' Rights and U.S. Plant Patents. As a plantsman, he has a vast knowledge of woody plants (dendrology) and herbaceous perennials and the naming of these plants (taxonomy).

  

Besides this is he the secretary of the Trials Committee of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society (KVBC) and Editor-in-Chief of Dendroflora (Dutch language only), the annual magazine of the KVBC and the Dutch Dendrology Society (NDV).

Mark Houtman

Mark Houtman has obtained his MSc degree from the joined-degree Molecular Sciences study at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit. He has done research into the synthesis of insect pheromones and was a practical course instructor at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the field of organic chemistry.

 

He started at Ronald Houtman Sortimentsadvies in 2024. Besides his work he will be following several specialist courses in order to enlarge his knowledge.

 

Plant chemistry is of great interest to Mark. He is convinced that these natural products are underutilised and will be investigating possible practical applications of these compounds.
