The result of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (Brexit), ​is that the UK territory is no longer protected by the European Plant Breeders’ Rights (EU PBR).

All plants that were granted EU PBR on the 1st of December 2019, remain under future UK PBR until they expire. The executive body in the UK is the Animal and Plant Health Agency, APHA, located in Cambridge. All aspects of the UK PBR are the same as EU PBR, except that your plant is only protected within the UK.

 

Since PBR applications can only be filed from the country or area it applies to, we have partnered with Genesis Plant Marketing. Like us, this UK based company is specialized in preparing, filing and accompanying PBR applications in the UK. In all aspects we work cooperatively with Genesis for UK PBR.
