Toxicity

Many plants contain toxins. These are toxic chemicals that, depending on what compound it is, can lead from some itching to, in extreme cases, death. Some common toxic plant chemicals are hyoscyamine (Atropa belladonna - belladonna), strychnine (Strychnos), digoxine (Digitalis - foxglove) and coniine (Conium - hemlock).

Through our knowledge of chemistry we can help you with:

-   Investigating the toxicity of your plant(s) (and possible applications);

-   Screening your planting design for plant toxicity, for example for school playgrounds, children’s daycares, etc.

Are you interested in the toxicity of your plant, or are you designing a garden and you would like to have the toxicity of your chosen plants investigated?

Please, contact us to discuss the possibilities and services we could provide for you.
